realise that i'm no longer excited about cny, or rather no longer care.. i didn't get new stuff (bedsheets, clothes, lingerie) and i have actually decided to go to kl from 初二 to 初四. been seeing my relatives several times
a year, unlike in the past when we usually met during only cny.

halong bay has got to be the most enjoyable part of the northern vietnam trip, for me at least. it was only fur and i as yen was still feeling ill. we got away from the hustle and bustle of the hanoi city, from the honks, and more importantly from the wifi. as much as i love how connected the city is, i really hate to know how reliant we are on ( Read more... )

yen is finally well but our grand plans to do several things on nye were thwarted because (1) puppet show tix for today are all sold out (2) hcm mausoleum is closed on mondays and fridays (3) by the time we reached back to the guesthouse last night, it was too late to book the cooking class that would commence at 8am today.

i'm really liking this whole everywhere-has-wifi experience we are having in vietnam. day 2 saw me and yen trying out the tailoring in hanoi, we'll be collecting our dresses on tue when we get back from sapa, if it turns out well, we'll make more! fingers crossed! have already saved many other designs :)

yen and i had a lovely xmas eve evening starting with dinner at highway 4 accompanied by several santa clauses going round the restaurant to toast plum liquer to the guests, watched a harlem-yu-look-alike hanoi idol perform at a street concert and are currently chilling outdoors at a desserts place in perfect 23 degrees weather.

for yenew's farewell gift, we compiled a scrapbook of photos and messages for her. thanks to fur who dug out alot of the photographs and single-handedly created the collages, they really brought back alot of memories while we were doing up the book on wed.
