sunday i did the capital city river run. it was nice cool weather, and it only rained right before the race. i did the first 10 miles in 1hour 27 minutes (13 minutes faster than my goal time), which is a pace of 8:44. i was 13th out of 34 in my age group. overall, my 20 mile time was 3 hours and 8 minutes (12 minutes faster than my goal), so i'm quite happy with that. that means that my marathon will most likely be under 4 hours and 15 minutes, which is great considering that at the beginning of the summer my marathon goal time was 5 hours!
last night i did an easy 6 miles, then tonight i did a 2 mile warm-up, and 6x800s intervals on the east lansing high school track. my 800 times were: 3:26, 3:35, 3:44, 4:06, 4:07, 3:50. my goal was to keep them under 4:10, so i reached that, and i'm very impressed with my first few times. i'm psyched about the dino dash 5k this weekend, i hope i'm having a good day, i think i could get a really great time. if i can do 7:30 miles, that would give me an overall time around 23m30sec. right now my pr is 24:56, so my actual goal is just to beat that, which i think i can do. i think the top 5 in each age group win a prize, so that would be uber cool. :)
one more day of teaching, then one day of class, then jungle bash-apalooza in grand rapids at the sibley mansion!
