Tomohisa and Kazuya were having fun as a couple in the Disneyland. Tomohisa can’t believe that he never took Kazuya to this place before. Meanwhile, Kazuya was content to spend the day out with Tomohisa. Sometimes he felt like they haven’t had fun for ages. Well, considering that he was centuries old, it might as well true that he hadn’t have fun playing at the playground with the love of his life in ages.

“Pi, let’s go there.” Kazuya said, as he pointed at the Merry Go Round. Tomohisa just groaned when he saw what Kazuya pointed at.

“No, Kazu, anything but that.” Tomohisa said, but Kazuya ignored him and proceed on dragging him to the Merry Go Round. Tomohisa just complied with his lover’s wish.

“Why do we have to go there? It’s a kids place. We’re not kids anymore, aren’t we? Come on Kazu, let’s go to another ride.” Tomohisa pouted as he said that.

“Well, you’re acting like a kid now. Come on, love, it’s just a ride. You’re not afraid of it, aren’t you?” Kazuya said, as if baiting him. Tomohisa just humped, “I’m not afraid of anything!” He said, indignantly.

“Well then, let’s go.” Kazuya said happily. Tomohisa just continued groaning as he realized he’s been tricked.

”Uwaa, today is so much fun, ne.” Tomoyo said to both her brother and her son who is in her arms. Haru just nodded excitedly. Although there were many rides that he couldn’t ride, but the one that he can were all very enjoyable and fun for him. Tatsuya just smiled and nodded all the same, amused with his nephew centric.

Then, his cell phone rang. After talking for a while, he hung up with a big smiled on his face. “Who is it?” Tomoyo asked, although she has a hunch of who it might be.

“It’s Ryo, he invited us for dinner tonight and I agreed. Tackey will be there too.” Tatsuya said, the smiled still attached on his face.

“Oh, ok. Where will we be eating?” She asked again. “I don’t know. He just said that both of them will be waiting for us in front of the entrance. Then, we will decide from there.” Tatsuya told her. Tomoyo just nodded.

“So, what are we waiting for? Let’s go.” Tomoyo said as she dragged her brother along. Haru just giggled when Tatsuya rolled his eyes.

Tomohisa stopped on his track, disbelief written on his handsome features. Kazuya looked at Tomohisa in puzzled, wondering why did his lover suddenly stopped walking.

“What’s wrong, Pi? Why did you suddenly stop?” Kazuya asked. Then he turned to look what Tomohisa had been looking at when the older vampire didn’t answer him. What he saw certainly he didn’t expect? There in front of him were a mirror image of Tatsuya and Tomoyo, laughing and talking to 2 men that they recognized as the lovers of their deceased friends. Then also, Kazuya saw a little boy, who looked a lot like a boy in his dream in Tackey’s arms.

“Is this real? Is it really them?” Kazuya asked, more to himself than to Tomohisa. His eyes flicked over to Tomohisa. Tomohisa’s eyes were brimming with tears, seeing a look alike of his sister. He tightens the hold as he was holding Kazuya’s hand in his.

“Come Kazu, let’s go home.” He said, turning around, tugging Kazuya to do the same.

“But…but…what if it’s really them? Don’t you want to meet them too?” Kazuya asked, his eyes looked desperate at Tomohisa. He really wanted to see if the two people they saw were really Tomoyo and Tatsuya or not.

“It’s no use, Kazu. I know it’s really them. You remember the dream that I had? The feeling that I had, whenever I am near Tomoyo. It’s the same feeling, Kazu. I know it’s really my sister. Our bond can never be broken. But I don’t think any of them remember us. If they do, for sure they will come back to us. Besides, look at them. They are happy now. And I don’t want to interfere with that happiness.” Tomohisa told Kazuya, eyes fill with sadness.

“But how? And why didn’t they remember us?” Kazuya asked, his voice waver. He still doesn’t understand how could his closest friends doesn’t have any memory of them, of their previous life.

“I don’t know Kazu, I really don’t know. Maybe they were given a second chance in life, when they sacrificed their life for their lovers. But with that chance, they lost their memory as well. That’s why they don’t remember us. Besides, maybe it’s for the best.” Tomohisa sighed as he explained his theory.

“Why is it for the best, Pi? How could it? What if we’re never seen them again? What if something happen to them and we don’t know about it? What if…” Kazuya was cut from his ranting when Tomohisa put his finger onto Kazuya’s lips.

“I know you want them back together with us. I want them too. But they’re human now. And they have their own life too. We can’t rob that from them. Besides, their lovers are human too. If we turn them into one of us again, then they can’t be together with their human lovers. It’s against the rules, remember. And what about Tomo’s son, we don’t know if he inherits our genes or his father’s gene. And we don’t even know if our kin will accepts him, since he’s a hybrid. Won’t that crush Tomo’s heart later; finding out our own kin rejected her son. Do you want that to happen?” Tomohisa said. Kazuya stayed in silent for awhile before shaking his head.

“That’s why I think it’s the best if we stay out of their life. As much as I hate it, we have to do this. I know it’s hard but seeing their happiness, that they are both well and happy, that’s enough for me. I know this is the right choice. I hope you can understand that as well, Kazu. I know this is not fair, that I’m taking out your choice to awaken them, since Tatsuya is your cousin but please Kazu, just let them be. Let them finally be happy with their new life.” Tomohisa said, eyes begging for Kazuya to understand his reasons.

Kazuya looked at Tomohisa first, before turning his head towards the direction where Tatsuya and Tomoyo were standing. Finally, he understood what Tomohisa saw when he made his choice. Looking at how both Tatsuya and Tomoyo were having fun and how sometimes, Tatsuya and his lover will shared a glance before turning away or how Tomoyo, her son and her lover looked like a real family, Kazuya finally understood.

“You’re right, Pi. They look so happy, ne. I understand now. I’m sorry I’ve been so selfish.” Kazuya said, as he leaned against Tomohisa for support.

“No, I understand what you’re feeling, love. Because I want them back into my life too. But sometimes, we don’t get what we want, right. Life is all about sacrifice and this is one of them.” Tomohisa said as he hugs Kazuya tightly.

“Let’s go home, Kazu.” Tomohisa said as he release Kazuya from his hug. Kazuya just nodded in agreement. And then, both of them walked away from that place.

Meanwhile, Tomoyo suddenly felt a tugging in her heart, as if trying to tell her about something. But when he turned around, he saw no one at the place where Tomohisa and Kazuya vacant earlier. From afar, she saw a pair of figure walking to the car park. And once again, her heart fills with familiarity but she can’t understand it.

“Tomo, what’s wrong?” Tatsuya tugged his sister’s sleeved when he noticed the far away looked in Tomoyo’s eyes.

“Huh?? No, nothing is wrong, ni-chan. Everything is just fine. Hey, why don’t all of us go for dinner now? I’m hungry.” Tomoyo suggested to Tackey and Ryo. Both of them just nodded in agreement. Tatsuya just looked doubtful at Tomoyo, but decided to let it go.

Deciding to eat at the new open diner that quite near at where Tatsuya and Tomoyo live, they all split up. Tomoyo and Haru were going with Tackey in his car; meanwhile Ryo will follow Tatsuya since he came with Tackey. Before they leave that place, once again Tomoyo looked back to the place that tugged her heart.

The End.
