My mind has been on my home state all day. It feels different when a natural disaster comes and hits places you know and grew up with. I mean, hearing about the tragedies in Japan broke my heart, but hearing about places like Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Cullman, Phil Campbell... all these places I lived in or near? It's kinda hard. I've cried some today, not gonna lie.
Thankfully, my family is safe. I was really starting to get worried yesterday when I started seeing posts on facebook about flooding and tornadoes. I was able to contact all my family in one form or another and know that they were safe. I'm so grateful for technology.
I wish I was there, so I could feel like I was doing something to help. All I can do here is pray, and I've been doing that.
In case you didn't see, here's the tornado that hit Tuscaloosa. It looks like something from a movie.
