My Kids are Cute

Sometimes I come in here to start an entry, but never finish. The reason is that Lauren has some sort of LJ-radar that goes off whenever I try to post. She immediately wants to be in my lap or wants juice or wants my full-attention. It's inevitable. Today, her cousin Londyn is over, so I'm sneaking on here to write a bit.

I've got the hiccups. Lame. Maybe I should try doing 15 loopty-loops in an airplane like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse suggests. Johanna still has the hiccups. (I have no idea if anyone else has watched that episode as much as I have.)

Some funny things that have happened lately:

Evan got mad at me this morning b/c I told him he could NOT wear my watch b/c he's already lost his watch, and I don't want him to lose mine. He said that hurt his feelings and cried about it. He then told me he was going to make a sign for his bedroom that said "No girls allowed!" Evan's only 4 and can't write yet, so I was interested to see how this would play out. The results were adorable.

I'm the stick figure on the right with the NO symbol on their face. Ironically, he had to ask me for tape to put it on his door, since he couldn't get it himself. I helped him put his "No Girls" sign on his door. He later made signs for all of our doors, and my sign has me, Andrew, and Lauren with a NO sign on Lauren's middle. I asked him what that meant, and he said, "NO BABIES!" But, of course, he's allowed in my room b/c he made the sign. :)

Yesterday I was putting Evan in Amberly's car b/c she offered to watch them while I shopped. (It's a great trade-off we do every week.) I couldn't fit his booster seat in between two car seats, so I said he'd be fine on the trip home from the library without one. Amberly told him he wouldn't be using a booster seat, and he said, "Whoa, didn't see that one coming!" haha

I put Lauren to bed the other night, and she cried and cried when I left the room. When I finally went back in to check on her, slightly agitated, I figured out that she wanted her ceiling fan on. I turned it on, and she was instantly happy. Kids are so weird.

Last night when I put her to bed, she kept crying out "Mommy! Mommy!" I went in there to see what she needed, and she wanted to say prayers. So we said prayers. Then as I got up to leave, she said, "WAIT! WAIT! Uhh... what daddy doin?" I told her he was in bed, then she asked what Dada (Evan), Baby (Lauren), and I were doing. Then, I started to leave again, and she was like, "Wait! wait! Uuuhhh... what daddy doin?" haha I think someone was stalling... I finally left her alone, and she sang herself to sleep singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

I have such adorable kids.

Right, well, I should probably do something productive in my house like finish folding that pile of clothes in the living room. Ugh...
