where else can you listen to AC/DC while eating Easter lunch?
I'm kinda sorta devising a plan. I called UW-M the other day to get the scoop. I also found THE PERFECT grad program at Marquette that I am really excited about. I've missed the deadline to be considered for the assistantships there for fall too but she said if I get my application in by sometime in November I'll be eligible for full consideration for Spring 2011. That's a long time to wait BUT it gives me a lot of time to still maybe be able to find a good job or move up to Wisconsin and get settled before it all starts. I want to talk to someone in the communications department at Marquette and see what sort of qualifications they base their assistantship decisions on and if I would actually be in the running for one. I would have to land one of those or there is no way I'd be able to afford out of state grad school tuition at a private university.
I'm also going to put together an application for Epic Systems again this week. I was so bummed that nothing came from the last time I applied but I really think I'll be able to write a better cover letter and I do consider myself more qualified for the position now that I was before I graduated. Blaire said she would be happy to write me another referral and that they are looking for lots of people right now, so it's a good time to apply. I'd also like to call to the HR department and ask a few questions and touch base with someone there. That would seriously be a dream job right now.
My dreams of moving to Wisconsin have officially been rekindled and it's all I can think of right now. If I end up swinging the ideal Marquette situation for next Spring I'd like to move up there at the end of the summer, which is incredibly convenient since my cousin Jason gets married in August. I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN SO BAD. I WILL MAKE IT SO.
I'm really making an effort to make time to get involved with CVBC. I just feel like I'm so busy all the time and it's hard for me to get motivated at this point since I don't have much invested in it yet. But I'm still very interested in it so that's a good sign.
So yea, I'm figuring some things out.
This past weekend was fun. Amanda was home for Easter break and we hung out a lot at Josh's playing catchphrase and Trivial Pursuit a lot. I officially wanna be best friends with Hunter, he's so great, coolest high schooler since McKenzie Currie. I had a lovely Easter lunch with the family yesterday. Adam, Dad and I were all wearing tank tops with either gym shorts, swimming trunks or short jorts, respectively. Adam has nearly convinced me to start going to the gym. I went and talked to Mike the other day and I think he'll be able to give me a good work out plan so I go to the gym for more than 10 minutes, get bored and leave. Jessica is going there now too so we at least I won't be the only girl in that meat locker.
OK bye, going to watch a movie in bed and write some things.
