The guy next to me is doing n00bie typing, and I must say it's more amusing than I would have thought. He's diligently staring at the keyboard, whilst using his two pointed index fingers to press the keys one at a time. It's quite funny really.
I've seen him look over and stare at me while I was replying to a few emails and I think that he's intrigued by the concept of touch typing which is what I'm doing. Makes me wonder what he'd be thinking if he saw proper touch typing compared to my poor attempt of it. I'm not bad, just that there are better and I tend to slow down when I gave to type strange words like falafel.
Went and saw a band over the weekend at the corner hotel. They were called TRUST Company and I have to say that they are probably the best band that I've seen this year, and I have seen a lot. Over the past two months or so I've probably gone to a pub/lounge once everyweek and they'd always have a house band or some other act that they've booked in. But this time instead of just going there for social reasons a few friends brought me along just to see the band, and it was definitely worth it.
The music, is probably best described as metal with a melody. Not punk, rock, metal, grunge. Can't really define the style. Just is. Though something that I've read over the weekend is that something that has become really popular over in America and therefore by default, here, is a genre of music called Screamo. It's a mixture of punk, metal, and rock and apparently I've been listening to it for years before other people decided that it was "cool".
Bands like Lost Prophets, Story of the Year, The Used, have a similar sound and have been around for years and it's only recently that they've started to get popular and become mainstream.
That's how things go I guess. Maybe if I start listening to Folk and World music commercial stations will start playing it in a few years time.
