octavius! fat hamster/biology project
he's doing well in the project
and getting very large.
i have a few questions about him; i'm a first time hamster owner, so bear with me if they're silly questions c:
so, lately Octavius has been sleeping in a diff. place than his hamster house
we had bought him a new one since he was getting a little too big for his old ones, so we got one of those edible ones
and he slept in that/chewed on that for a few days, but in the past 2-3 days he's taken to going up into his watchtower (that's what i call it XD), and he's brought bedding and food up there, and has also like... plugged up the tube leading up there with bedding. i'm not sure why he's decided to do that, i thought maybe he was cold, or bored one. at first i was kinda worried he was stuck up there, but apparently he can get up and down if he wants.
something i should be watching or just normal little hamster behavior? :]
also: holding him, it feels like his nails/claws are getting pretty long. a friend said i might should take him somewhere to get them clipped...? or will he trim them himself with clawing on the toys i have in his cage?
last one- he's getting very large. is there a certain weight/size i should be worried about him getting?
