Film Review: American Gangster
I went to see American Gangster yesterday...
I thought it was a very good film. Both Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe acted brilliantly. Infact I absolutely loved Denzel Washington. He gives a smooth, controlled and dynamic performance.
The film's plot moved smoothly and was easy to understand.. there was a lack of flashiness but the gore and drug abuse in the film can get a lot in parts of the film.. I thought the cinematography was not upto par at points... the scenes were too darkly lit and camera work was not always smooth. The direction was quite good though.
The writers did a good job too. I loved some of the lines.
"The loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room."
Overall, it was a good two and a half hours spent.
