solved mysteries, and first week of university up to present time

Hi readers,
First, I will explain a mystery that didn't quite make sense. I was awarded financial aid, yet had been denied. I was surprised to say the least.
Well, I went to go get books, and discovered that students are automatically awarded financial aid in case their appeal goes through. Since mine was denied a month or so before, I technically do not have financial aid. However, there is a bright side to all this.
My Division of blind services case was still down in the Beaumont office with whom I had little communication. I was not even in v.r.t. Let's just say that some people do not handle things as they should. A local case worker has taken my case on a probationary basis. aS long as I approve my g.p.a., then she will keep me next semester. Now, I am in the adult vrt program, and dars has purchased my textbooks all of which I have except my public speaking book which I havethrough rfb&d. I don't have my political science book which i am scanning and reading slowly.
About my classes themselves
I have been doing well by getting to class on time every day. I arrived at my political science class at 9 a.m. on Monday. The prof. was not there, but her graduate assistant was. Apparently, she had to go do something to ensure she got paid, I didn't really pay attention to her apology Wednesday. The syllabus was passed out, I made sure it would be e-mailed to me, and i proceeded to my public speaking class. Public speaking is busy, but I think it might be a positive experience. i think this skill will be useful in daily life. This professor was also new, but very professional, and explained exactly what was expected of the students. The first day consisted of an intro, general public speaking, and what we were to read. we are currently learning about making an outline, and speech preparation. My first speech is on September 8, about comparing myself to a fictional character or object. I think I will do a book(pun or no pun intended, think what you will.)
Anyway, now to my more interesting subjects Spanish and physics. The Spanish professor is from California and spoke some English during the first class. We have to write four 500 word double spaced essays, two literary analysis, 2000 words each, and reading quizes. I think this will be an interesting learning experience though some of it makes me nervous. However, I want to do well in this course, and the first reading quiz was this morning.
I am afraid I came a bit ill prepared this morning. I should have read all four stories and did not. However, i am spending the evening catching up on readings, and plan to spend tomorrow afternoon writing. I received the book Friday afternoon, and so was a little late. I have a print copy of the book Los de abajo by Mariano Azuela. the state library said they could not find it.
If anyone knows where to obtain a copy, I would be extremely grateful.
I find learning the literary elements such as "climax" and "trauma" most interesting. I now have the capacity to elevate my language, and speak as though i am well-educated.
Anyway, enough boring you about my Spanish language obsession.
Physics was not as bad as I had anticipated. It will be difficult, but it is not very math oriented, and i can compare notes with my notetaker. the book is also helpful as far as explanations go, but there is a website that goes with this class. since I got a used book, I cannot use the access key as it has already been redeemed. I could have sworn that I asked about the student access key specifically, but Dars was covering the books, and i need to focus on the solution not the problem. I will speak to the professor, call my case worker, or if I must, buy the access myself though right now all the funding is allocated to bills.
The first week of classes was tiring, both mentally and physically. However, I am working hard to complete the change I promised myself I would implement once back in college. as they say, old habits die hard, but progress will come with persistence.
Outside of school, my avon is slow. I dropped my website because I was generating no clients. I still sell it locally though. The last campaign has been slow, but I have sworn to stay a year before i make any decisions. That will be in December. I lost a customer, who lost her beauty shop so I lost potentially more than just this one customer. Now i am seeking new places, new clients, and new opportunity. School is my top priority though. I also fear I may have lost one of my best Spanish customers. I have not heard from her, and that is strange.
Perhaps i didn't, and I know economic times are difficult, as I am feeling it in business. Things come and go, I know that my customer base will look up again eventuallly.

anyway, I hope all are well,
Halima
