[Things have been tense at the Liberation Lodge lately. As such, Svala is making herself extremely available for talks, knowing it was better to make an invitation than a mandatory RSVP.

Plus her garden needed weeding something fierce. So she's on her knees in the dirt around House 32, the knees of her (only pair of) pants already dirty and grass- ( Read more... )

[Speaking of tense. Within the hour Edward heads outside, his initial goal being the smithy to sharpen his sword; he pauses when he notices her, hesitating briefly, then moving to stand closeby.]

My lady, do you need any help?

I would appreciate assistance, yes.

[She moves aside so he can kneel next to her.]

[...Bleh, now he has to garden 8|

He nods, though, and first removes his gloves, followed by his sword, burying it into the ground, before he finally kneels beside her.]

What can I do?

[He better not have stabbed her flower bed with that.]

Do you see this specific plant? [She shows him one of the weeds that commonly plagued her garden.] Please pull these.

[It's a hot day, and thankfully, Kratos hasn't heard that horrible song ever since that humiliating day with Presea. He's confident that he won't hear it again... At least, he hopes so, because he's outside again and he doesn't want to break down in a seizure-like dance again.

Especially not when he sees Svala hard at work.

He promptly turns around to go back to his house, but not to escape from possible embarrassment. As mentioned, it's a hot day, and ladies who work under it should be treated.

Once he returns, he has a glass of cold lemonade with him. He never developed a taste for it, but Presea has a fondness for the drink (as much of one as she can have, anyway), and he figured Svala might appreciate some, too. ... He hopes, anyway.

ffff he never asked her if she liked lemonade or not adfkjlasdfk. Well. Too late now, as he made his presence known with a little cough.]

[Kratos is very quiet and sneaky, but he wasn't exactly attempting to be very discreet so Svala turned at the cough and smiled up at him, brushing her fingers off on her legs.]

Good day, Kratos.

Good day.

[Just so that she doesn't have to look up so much, Kratos lowers to his knees beside her and. Kind of awkwardly holds out the drink. Please tell him you like lemonade, he'd kick himself if you didn't.]

I thought you could use something like this.

How thoughtful. You are too good to me. [She doesn't actually take the glass from him; her hands are pretty filthy, after all. Instead she leans forward slowly enough to give him plenty of warning and uses a finger to tilt the base of the glass as she sips from it.]

[Diana is taking a walk and pauses when she sees Svala. She might as well make small talk. It doesn't hurt to make new friends.]

Hello.

Good day. [Svala sits back on her heels all prim and proper to pay her the appropriate amount of courtesy and attention.]

You have a lovely garden. [Really, she barely notices the weeds!]

[Svala bows her head in gratitude.]

Thank you.

Forgive me, but I do not believe we have met. May I ask your name?

[Despite how long Yuan's known about Svala's relationship with Kratos, he's never actually had a conversation with this woman. It might be time for that right about now. He's not that good at casual talks, but for Kratos' sake he's willing to put in some effort.]

Miss Svala?

[Svala pauses and sits back on her heels; her dirty hands fold atop her knees delicately, as if she hadn't just been rummaging around in the mud with them. She greets Yuan with a faint upturned smile.]

I am. May I help you?

[She's certainly polite. Seems smart enough, too. Kratos sure knows how to pick 'm.]

My name is Yuan. ... Kratos' oldest companion. [He has no clue just how much Kratos has told Svala, but so he'll just play it safe for now and leave his remarks a bit indistinct.]

A pleasure to finally meet you, Sir Yuan. [Svala bows her head a bit, but not so much that the gesture could be seen as humble. Just polite.]

Kratos has spoken of you occasionally. I am glad I finally have a face to match the name.

[It'll be well after her conversation with Edward when her grumpy Sigmund puts in an appearance, and an accidental one at that. He's sort of trying to avoid the both of them, albeit for unrelated reasons.

When he sees her crawling around in the dirt, he has three thoughts: what, why, and please not tomatoes. And then the sad revelation that, since he stopped and did not keep moving, he will probably be fending off 'polite inquiries' and crawling around in the dirt helping her very soon.

Maybe if he doesn't say anything, she won't notice him.]

[Yeah right, she was out here waiting for you, like she's not gonna notice her extremely noticeable son brooding about and filling the air with his uncomfortableness.

She doesn't look up from tending her garden -since what is she gonna do anyhow if he runs off, physically wrestle him over here?- when she speaks]

Good day, Sigmund.

[It's not really surprising that he has no luck. He can't run off anyway, her guilt-fu is superior to his and fleeing now will only make it worse later. So he walks over and sits down next to her with only mild reluctance.

...If he knew she already spoke to Edward, he'd probably take his chances and run.]

Gardening?

[Sigmund's guilt-fu backfires and afflicts himself instead. He should stop that.

More crazy tense vibes! Man she's going to get an ulcer between the two of you, she should just take Katie out and hang out with her for a while.]

Indeed. You will be pleased to know that I have abstained from planting tomatoes.
