Overdue update #478311: I spent must of last weekend poking my LJ Idol story forward with a stick (longer story arcs and longer lengths always slow me down). On Saturday, I did some minor Christmas shopping but cannot remember what. I won first place in the NBC Last Author Standing, and came in second for USA Network Last Author Standing. Thanks to those of you who helped with voting along the way!

Gah. So I finished those two final-round Last Author Standing stories, and I am pretty much dead. I spent clear up through 5pm Monday poking one of them along before deciding that it needed a complete and radical rewrite, and I took three different tacks on the other before realizing last night at 1am that only one half of one of them really worked ( Read more... )

Got some Xmas shopping done this weekend, but not much on the outside lights (too rainy). I didn't get the inside decor done either. Instead, I sifted through the books/arts&crafts donations from my S-I-L for what to keep, which prompted me to clean out OUR many arts&crafts cupboards and donate 2 bags of great supplies to Goodwill. Years ago in college, I heard a recounting of a movie short called "De Düve" (The Dove). It was a Bergman spoof, with fake Swedish unnecessarily translated into subtitles.
