this is to update on my life
last night was this HUGE greek competiton called Fling. It is for homecoming, and each triad of frats and sororities is given a movie, a song and an MU tradition that they have to encorporate into a 12 minute skit with 2 dance segments and a song. It is really intense. I didn't think all of the skits would be as good as they were, but holy hell I was impressed the entire time. There was so much spirit and yelling that I left with one of the worst headaches of my life, but at a time when I almost could not feel any prouder.
Being greek at mizzou is very stereotypical. Yes we throw the best parties on campus and yes some of the girls are sluts and some of the guys are just beer-drinking pigs..but there is another side to it that people don't usually think about. Service.
Every greek is absolutely dedicated to service, whether it be through donating blood, "the house that greeks built", tigers taming hunger, tiger tango, 24 hour dance marathon, and 1 million other things that are primarily run by Greeks. Being greek has been so amazing and I am so glad that I gave it a shot. I can see why people say "you are buying your friends" because yes, if you read into it plain and simple, you are paying money to make friends in your organization. But if you read between the lines and really look into what it means being greek, for the money you are getting the opportunity to be introduced to new people that you would never meet if you just came to MU, work with other greeks to make columbia a better place, and help others world-wide.
So all in all, I think I have been to some of the best parties ever, I love meeting people who are greek, but I love knowing that I am in a highly regarded organization and I have the opportunity to help people every day of the year.

all my love from missouri.
