Another tall ship is no longer with us. Ireland's national sail training vessel, the Asgard II, has sunk in the Bay of Biscay. No casualties, fortunately, but the loss of the vessel alone is terribly saddening.

We've had three separate tall ships out at the Shoals in the last 48 hours, including my old ship Corwith Cramer.

On the heels of this weekend's good news comes some terribly sad news. I just got an email informing me that one of my shipmates from the Cramer died recently. There weren't many details, but it was implied that it was suicide.

I hadn't been in touch with him for a while, but it's still a painful loss.
