I hope that everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing Labor Day weekend.

I'll just be doing some painting.  I did buy a vintage shampoo tray for my barber chair, which I am restoring.  And I'm doing some other painting projects...which have seen me to have fallen off a ladder and spilled 3/4 of a new gallon of paint.  I'm a very colorful sight right ( Read more... )

First, could anyone use a free admission ticket to Legoland in California?  I purchased a Lego magazine subscription for my son (because they had an Indiana Jones Lego kit as part of monthly membership benefits), and they sent a ticket to Legoland.  Since we have no plans to go to California, maybe someone out there lives there and has Lego-loving ( Read more... )

We knew that it wouldn't last forever.  We had a nice long run, but now it's time to say goodbye.  Sometime next week, I will be retiring my red barber chair and replacing it with a 1920's Emil J. Tomorrow I will be filming a buzzcut.  The model is going from a bob to a more practical cut for summer.  :)  Once finished, I'll edit that right away.

The holidays have kept me busy.  I just finished washing and painting my 1950's salon chair.  I'm amazed how well the paint matched the original.  I'm quite pleased on how it turned out.  I'll try to provide a photo of the chair soon ( Read more... )

I've been adding things to my new station.  So far I have the original 76 Oster clippers as well as the Oster 76 Lite clippers now hanging up on the station.  The only exposed wood on the station is underneath the counter, and it's hard wood; not the cheap pressboard stuff that is oh-so popular today.  The teacup hooks didn't stand a chance of ( Read more... )
