fixing up the shop

I've been adding things to my new station.  So far I have the original 76 Oster clippers as well as the Oster 76 Lite clippers now hanging up on the station.  The only exposed wood on the station is underneath the counter, and it's hard wood; not the cheap pressboard stuff that is oh-so popular today.  The teacup hooks didn't stand a chance of being screwed in without the help of a hammer and nail first making the hole.  A hook is ready for the fans, and the strop is also now hanging up as well.  I have a hand mirror and a wooden spoon that need to go up next, but I ran out of hooks.  I'll pick up more sometime either this or next week.

Now for the fans: I remembered from the foam perm video that sometimes the perm solution isn't always friendly on the model's eyes.  Carmen handed Leah a fan to help keep the chemicals away from her face.  From being under the perm machine, I also noted a need for the fans, but at that time, they were so well packed in the station that I didn't bother asking for one.  That won't be the case this time.  :)  With the same hammer and nail, I punched a hole through the handles of both vintage bamboo fans.  I did accidently split one handle a bit.  But not to worry.  A touch of Elmer's Wood glue will fix that right up.  I ran silver thread through the holes and once the glue has dried, I'll hang them both up.

Since the sterilzer box took the place of the white shelf, that area looks a little naked.  I think a single shelf mounted on the wall would look swell.  I'll see if I can pick something up this week.

One of my video cameras arrived today.  Just waiting on one more.  This one came back sooner than expected.  :)
