I tried to make stuffed leek tonight. Tried baking them instead of pan-frying them. The low-fat way. Well, I've done my bit to pave to road to hell. Of course they came out dry. Luckily I'd made plenty of sauce. Next time I'm gonna do it the way my ancestors did it!

While we're on the subject of things I'm catching up with, I should mention that I'm finally watching the animated Teen Titans series. It's lovely! it's utterly charming, and I like how it's loosely based on the Peréz/Wolfman Titans. Along with the Byrne/Claremont X-Men, they were what got me into supers comics.

And I'm really enjoying it. It's frequently offensive, juvenile and absurd. It's also genuinely well-written and well-plotted. In some ways it bring me back to those Mr. Natural and Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics I used to read as a kid. In some ways it manages to remind me why I like superhero comics.
