Friday the Thirteenth strikes again.

RPR let me go today.

At 4:55 I faxed in my timesheet to the temp agency and went to give Sherri her copy. She asked me to come into her office for a minute and closed the door. I knew it would be one of two things... unfortunately, it wasn't the good one.

I was about a month and a half away from becoming permanent. I didn't get to say goodbye to anybody except Sherri, because they all clocked out and left while I was in talking to her. I don't know if they even knew about it. And I cried in front of Sherri - because I was surprised and disappointed, and because that's how I tend to react to stress, and change stresses me out more than pretty much anything else.

On the bright side, it wasn't about me. Apparently they needed to cut costs or something, because they had to cut the other temp too, and they transferred one of the permanent employees to a different office. Sherri told me she fought to keep me, but the bosses weren't budging. She also said she'd be happy to give me a recommendation for any job, and that if they needed anyone that she would request me. And I'm pretty sure that, now that I've had some good experience, it won't be long before the agency calls me for a new assignment. And whether it's a day before they call me or longer, I'll get some time off.

There are a lot of bright sides to think about.

It still really sucks.
