Beijing is back on the menu.  It seems like I'm intrinsically connected to this magnificent city.  I just bought tickets for Amanda and myself for the Javelin Throw and Track portion of the Beijing Paralympic Games, held in the Birds Nest Stadium, on September 8.  I'm going to the Olympics!  Ok, the Paralympics, but still.

So maybe I'm starting to get attached to these kids.  I don't know.  I still dislike some of them, but I dislike them less, and for less time (usually only during my 2 hour tutor time).  And I like more of them.  And this job's still difficult at times, but not particularly ridiculous anymore.

So much!

• I finished my 9th and final week of VBS on Friday.  It was such a draining job, but I grew a lot doing it, and that was the point.

I've done 7 weeks of VBS so far, and only 5 if you don't count training week and the week off I had in early July.  And only 2 more weeks left to go!  On Sunday, July 29 (I think that's technically today) I will be heading with the VBS team to Durand, which is somewhere by Rockford, for a week.  And that will be our last week travelling, because ( Read more... )
