Big Brown injured himself again and is now officially retired; he won't run in the BC Classic, and won't go up against Curlin, the only horse he was scheduled to face who might have shown whether BB could really run-- or not.  It's unfortunate that this year's three year olds were not particularly outstanding-- with the exceptions of Eight Belles ( Read more... )

Well, since I live in the St. Louis area, this is particularly interesting...some local businessmen have "privatly funded" a $250,000 purse for the Park's first major racing event in its 81 years.
