I almost forgot to update with last week's totals because I was sick...
Last week my goal was 1380 calories but this week I upped it to 1490 calories per day. But still following my macronutrient ratio of 50/25/25.
Lessons from week one: I still need to continue working on the fat intake (which I am doing so well with now). I used to look at my diary not really understanding where all the fat was coming from but now I know. I'm really loving this weekly summary thing... anyway now I know that a majority of the unnecessary fat I was consuming came from the amounts of butter I put on my toast or a baked potato and how much oil I used to roast meat or veggies in the oven. Sure they say oil is a source of good fat but at 1 tbsp a pop I was totally taking it too far. You know what they also say about too much of a good thing, right? Thanks to paying closer attention to the measurements on many of the new recipes I've wanted to try out AND Curtis Stone, I learned that 1 tsp goes a long way. And since oil is not the only way I get fat in my diet (I also get it from nut butters, dairy, etc.) I gotta be more careful.
An explanation for Friday... Last week I realized that I was short on groceries to the point where I didn't even have a tomato to slice into my sandwich :/ Well by dinner time I was famished!! So due to bad planning and no preparation, when my sisters came calling for us to go out to Red Lobster I was game. And I ate 3 cheddar bay biscuits!! I'm not even sorry, lol. I've been so strict the past 5 months that the break came just in time so I enjoyed myself and of course I earned it all as you can see I only went over on sodium (which is to be expected if you're gonna eat out, especially when famished; not recommended) and fat.
What I'm proud of: drinking more water and still being good (with the exception of Friday) on the sodium. My goal by the end of the year is to be able to eat no more than 1,500 mg per day. When Jillian Michaels first suggested this I thought she was MENTAL. But the more I purge processed foods from my daily means the more I see that it is not such a hard task to accomplish.
Things I need to work on: continue drinking more water. This week I was able to reach 8 glasses I think 3 out of the 7 days and that is a HUGE deal for me but I need it to be 7 out of 7. So I'll keep working on that.
