All in all, this week was rather lousy. It did have one highlight, however. Do you know that feeling when you suddenly consciously realize something that was always right in front of your eyes for the very first time? Well, I just had such a lightbulb-moment.
While once again rereading "The Far Pavilions", I realized that Ashton Hillary Akbar Pelham-Martyn and a certain John H. Watson could have met while being in India, because they actually were there at the same time.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you may not have read "The Far Pavilions" and the "Sherlock Holmes" books as often as I did. ;-)
In "The Far Pavilions" we leave Ashton and Anjuli on September 3rd, 1879, one day after the British representative to Kabul, Sir Pierre Cavagnari, was slaughtered along with all his staff and his guards... which led to the second phase of the Second Anglo-Afghan War, during the course of which John H. Watson was wounded at the Battle of Maiwand in July 1880 and then sent home to England, where he would meet Sherlock Holmes and embark on an entirely different kind of career.
... This may be the most pointless entry ever and yes, I'm weird, but this did made my day, so I thought I'd inflict it on my f-list share it with you. :)
And now excuse me while I go and watch the newest ep of Person of Interest, which will hopefully make my week (or at least my day) a lot better.
