It's almost June, and the Tigers are in first place of the AL Central.
I need to breath as I think about that. This is the same team that only two years ago lost 119 games. The Tigers were the punch line of Major League Baseball. Hey, it's early in the season, they might not hold on to first...but I'll enjoy it now while I can.
The New York Times had an article talking about the Clinton's marriage, how it could be a liability if Bill is too close during the election. Why do I feel like Bill payed someone to write that article? "Geee, Hillary, I sure would like to hang with you during the campaign, but I mean, you read that article just like I did. I'll just go party with Vernon Jordan over in Europe for a while, I'll call it a 'peace mission'. Love ya, babe!"
At my second job, I sell fine chocolates and coffee on Monument Circle in the heart of downtown Indy at the South Bend Chocolate Cafe. Glamorous, I know. Point being, they only have about four or five cd's they play in the background. Two are jazz, one is Sinatra, one is Tony Bennett, and then the last one is just amazing - it's a cd of nothing but Turkish Music. It's wonderful, if only for the simple fact, that while I'm in that Cafe, listening to that musci, I'm instantly transported back to Cairo and simpler, fantasticaly fun times. Oh, to be 21 again. Am I too young to be saying that already?
Last night another coworker brought in the best of Bridget Bardot. If you've never heard any French Cabaret Mod music from the 60's, do yourself a favor and give this stuff a spin. It'll transport you as well. That's what music should do - transport you. Whether that's to another place, another time, or just another section of your mind, it's all ok. If you're not transported, though, the music isn't good - period.
The Tigers are in first. The Pistons are about to be in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Wings made the playoffs. Just leaves one team (I'm looking at you, Lions).
One love to you all.
