New Truck, Christmas,
Since I last posted I'm pretty much settled in to the house, been fixing up things as I go. Got a huge sofa and a Sony Internet TV (Google TV), pretty disappointed by the Television industry is black balling it making it pretty pointless. Anyway, let's break this down.
The Wreck®
So back in the middle of November I was driving home on a rainy day and I was at the stop light at the end of the Earhart Express way where it ends at Dickory Avenue, I coast up to the curb to try to merge on to Dickory and I was rear-ended. The drive though I was taking off and didn't brake in time. So I filed a claim with his insurance and we both drove our separate ways. The adjuster came by the next day and totaled my car.
So I got a rental car and haggled with US Agencies for about 2 weeks. They tried to low-ball me and claimed I has a Camry LE with no options, but I has a Camry SE that was fully loaded. So after that I got a decent settlement. So then I waited for my check and the Thanksgiving holiday came along and screwed everything up. Long story short I get my check in early December.
While I was waiting for my check I decided to get a truck. I found a 2000 Tundra for about $6000. After I got my check I went and offered $4500, they settled for $5000 (and claimed they took a lose, haha). Evidently cash-for-clunkers pretty much decimated the used truck market and driven up prices. Most trucks I cam across were around $10,000.
So after tax and title the total price was $5500. Leaving me money for Christmas in which I got Natalie an $800 Camera, a netbook for Sadie, and a set of $600 tires and an Air compressor for myself. Between all that and food the whole affair was zero sum leaving me just as in debt as I was before all this stuff happened.
The Office®
After I got the Truck situation sorted out I decided to clean out my office and checkout what kind of flooring I had under the carpet. Turns out I had wood flooring underneath two layers of tile. So I ripped out all the tile and dad came over for a weekend and helped me sand and finish the floor. After that I put on a few more coast of finish and dicked around for a few weeks.
About two or three weeks ago I purchased some baseboard and borrowed a chop-saw from dad and put that in and reset the door that I removed before all that. Then weekend before last I stained the baseboard and then yesterday I put a coast of finish on it. two more coats and I'll caulk in the trim and maybe do some touch up painting, then I'll be ready to set up my office again. I need a desk.
This summer (maybe) my dad and I are going to level the house. After which I am going to knock out the other rooms.

Christmas and New Years was pretty interesting. I had 3 parties in my Bingo Hall. One for Christen and her Co-workers, nothing too eventful on my end the other was a family thing. The other was Natalie's Christmas party in which we decorated the tree and ate food and played board games. Melanie, Melissa, Ally, and Brett came, Chris was there for a little bit, and of course Natalie and Rita were there.
On Christmas Eve we had a lil party with my Dad and Sadie, we invited all the Woodruffs we could find. Aunt Debbie, Rick and Becca, and their kids came by (Richard came with Little Little Rick early and came back with Dawn and Cody later on) Uncle Rick showed up as well. Aunt Sandra and Gina came by later as well. Mom was over for a good bit. At some point Little Little Rick, Jada, and Rita were running around the Christmas Tree, kicking around Christen's inflatable alien.
Rita was over earlier, but she had to go to Chalmette for Christmas so the baby daddy picked her up that evening. Dad drank a little towards the end of the night but not all out Blitzed (I still wish he'd go into a treatment program) and not too obnoxious. We ended the night with New Orleans-Opoly and Trivial Pursuit.
The next morning Dad and I watched Die Hard, then him and Sadie went off to make the rounds at Aunt Sandra and Lacombe. Natalie and I went to Mom's. Then we picked up Rita and finally we stopped by Aunt Sandra's for a few.
