Houselander: End Game
The week before last the Realtor and loan officer said I'd be closing most likely on Wednesday. That did not happen. Instead the title company set the closing for 10:00am Monday June 28. A few hours later they called and set it for 3:00pm instead.
In the meantime I signed a paper saying I can move my stuff into the garage on Saturday. Rick came and we loaded up his trailer and got everything but my bedroom and bathroom moved. Dad, Sadie, Mom, Jonah, Christen, Chris, and Andrea helped.
I took Monday through Wednesday off of work. I went to the closing, met one of the owners, it was not a succession, their mom was in a home, the guy's sister lived there a while after the storm. The guy said he dad built the addition and the garage.
So we sign all the papers and I own a house. Rick helped me move my bed in and I move in the last of my stuff from Lakeview.
The last 2 weeks I've been fixing up the place, new shower heads, removed the sliding glass enclosure of the guest bathtub, cleaned the AC vents, Christen painted the pantry, mom and I started painting the shelves, I cleaned the AC vents, and I re-done all the drainage of the kitchen sink so it wouldn't leak (but it still drains slow). There is a ton more I need to do to the house.
Friday I mailed off my amended tax return. I sent it via express mail to speed it up. The tax credit is paying off my car and I'll most likely get my plumbing fixed with what's left.
