It really pains me to think that at this very moment, while I'm safe and content in my home in New York City, there are millions of people in Southeast Asia right now whose lives have been forever ruined because they lost their loved ones in the earthquake and tsunamis. It is absolutely terrible, and it upsets me to no end that the American news isn't making as big a deal about this as they did with 9/11. Yeah, we lost 3,000 people. They lost 20,000. There shouldn't even be a "they" at all; we should care equally about everyone in the world. Fuck nationalism, and fuck apathy.
