BUT THIS IS A SAD STORY we have to discuss how. uh. i might not realistically ship heungsoon anymore. LIKE I DO but the way hs treated jongho, the way namsoon adopted him too, the way for heungsoo it's like. he's nice to everyone. he looks after anyone. and maybe, maybe namsoon was just. the first person he helped. and namsoon's crush was just. entirely. one-sided.

I really love how with this show the perceptions you have of the characters just develop almost every single episode and then there are of course the episode after which you've got to stop and go over what you've got in your files about the characters and rewrite from the very beginning and I JUST HATE THIS SHOW SO MUCH.

(warning: tinhatting ahead) Heungsoon is still my (br)otp of the freaking century but *sigh* yeah, i kinda agree with you. Namsoon definitely had a Big Gay Crush on Heungsoo, but anything Heungsoo had back was something he probably never even acknowledged to himself. In all the flashbacks there's always such longing with Namsoon, which is never particularly reflected back from Heungsoo. Namsoon wasn't everything to him, the he was everything to Namsoon or he wouldn't have tried to leave. and would have noticed what him wanting to did to Namsoon. It feels like crush aside there was a lot of himself Namsoon hid.

It's so hard to push them together in fic. namsoon's just like: senpai please! and heungsoo's like: are you hurt are you bleeding? then idk what to do for you. lol the best I ever end up with is a one and a half-sided relationship

okay so after the Big Gay confession of you should have been there with the tears and the corniness i was all aboard team heungsoon? and then. and then we got more of who heungsoo was as a person, and hakyung had it right: he's a teddy bear covered in prickles. he puffs himself up because he wants to seem big, but he's really just a good person who has been kicked around so often that he ends up walking and talking like one of the bad guys. we saw heungsoo as the guy who goes after lost sheep. and we see that for him, namsoon was a lost sheep. and yes, namsoon became his closest friend, but had it not been namsoon...it might have been someone else.

for namsoon, there was never ever anymore but heungsoo.
