oh HAI pigz!!
Hi! I'm new to this community! i LOVE pigs and have four, two boys(Louie and Franz) and two girls(Petey and Bettie).
I just got the boys, who were all sad in a TINY tank in the back of my local petco....my roommate and I were so sad to see these big boys in crappy conditions so we got them! I plan on building a C+C cage for them ASAP! I don't have any pictures of them now as they are a bit nervous of me still. Any tips on taming new pigs?
Also, I did have to pick one of the boys up seeing as he had impaction and I helped him get it out (ps this is GROSS but I am worried!!!!) and I noticed it looks like he had a yeast-like infection in his butt.....I searched guinealynx but couldn't find any info on something like that. They are both brothers and both almost a year old...he is too young to have impaction anyhow, right? Anybody have any advice? I have a vet appt. on tuesday for both of them.
On the otherhand, I have two adorable girls, both very healthy! Petey is our little caramel/chocolate/white pig(who we first thought was a boy hence the name but is actually a girly) and Bettie is our little agouti pig! I adopted Petey off craigslist, this guy Julio found the little thing in the GARBAGE in Brooklyn! how absolutely awful!!!! who would dump a tiny pig? Anyways, Julio thus gave Petey to me and my roommate, and then we went to get Petey a friend, and we found dear little Bettie!
