It's unusual for young boys to have impaction, in older boys it's often caused by a weakness of their muscles. In your younger boys it could be caused by an inappropriate diet: try drowning them in hay, fiber and switching them gradually to a high quality pellet. If he has an infection, your vet should be able to help you out with that on Tuesday, although I suspect that it's not an infection but just the smelly gloop boys like to trail around their little world of being gross

awesome, thank you so much! I've been trying to be extragentle with the boypigs and start to handle them more. AND giving them tons of hay/veggies and good quality veggies, so hopefully they're on their way to getting healthy. yay thank you again!
When I read the part about how Petey was found, I had to hold my piggie immediately! Humans can be so cruel. I'm constantly reminding mine what a lucky animal he is. My Gizmo was originally thought to be a female, but I figured it out and renamed him.
