As luck would have it, things are sprouting here at Chez Guavmom: I have an avocado pit finally breaking the surface of the soil where I potted it up after letting it's root reach 3", suspended above a jar of water. A container of cat grass I seeded late last week is germinating on my windowsill, and the bunch of basil that Guav brought me to cook with weeks ago, is growing in a glass with some soil in it. It's sold with the roots and all, so after I used the bulk of it to make some yummy pesto,I cut it back and potted it up.
In the kitchen area, I have a second avocado pit started for Brixton,, who has a real love of nature, and it is already sending a root down into it's jar of water. I also have a cutting from a Pothos plant, that I got from a neighbor at a craft sale, started in a jar of water. So, as you can see, I'm getting my chance to exercise my formerly green thumb even here in senior housing. It wouldn't be a sarisfying Spring for me without some form of gardening!
On the craft front, I successfully finished a lovely baby blankie for a friend's new granddaughter last week, and have embarked on a fairly labor intensive project for my Daughter_In-Law: a thread crocheted throw for her living room, in a vintage pattern in a creamy off white.
Not much else new. Just started reading another one in the #1 Ladies Detective Agency series. They are fun books.Tonight is one of my favorite nights for T.V. Dancing With The STars, and then, Smash.
It really doesn't take much to make me happy. ;)
