a new year, a new you!
happy new year! christmas came and went. got back to sav on tuesday. jay came back wednesday. we did our christmas that night. first new year's guests arrived thursday (a day earlier than expected). all in all, ashlyn, stan, jacob, katy, amanda, jes, anna and adam came in to town to love us on new year's. we were joined by andrea most nights and had too much fun. mom had me kidnap koho, so we had three weeks with her, and that was awesome.
friday, jay and i went to ryan and sasha's wedding. it was beautiful. everyone back home took jay before the reception and went to dinner. i stayed and had andrea come get me. it was good to be with a buncha theatre folk.
saturday, i honestly can't remember too much what we did. i know that a few of us went to the grocery store and loaded up on food. i made a big turkey dinner (with lots of help) and jes, anna and adam got here just in time to eat! we ate late cause the turkey took a while to cook. i was very proud of myself.
sunday, i took jes, anna and adam downtown to look around. we went to the civic center that afternoon and met up with ashlyn for ice skating. i hadn't been ion skates in a while, but it was awesome. my legs were killing me. after that we came home and got ready for dinner. we ended up going to fiddler's down by the mall. the waitwas a little long since we're such a big group, but we were the last to leave, had a horrible band play and had a really awesome waiter. and the guys got a "dick in the box" shot.
we got back to the house a litte after 10 p.m. and stated toasting the new years. about 20 til midnight we turned on the tv and just sat around the living room gabbing. it was a good new years. we were all sad cause not everyone we loved were able to come, but we tried to call them all when the clock struck. we started winding down around 2 or so, blew up all the air mattresses and everyone crashed. most people had to head out on monday, and after katy and amanda left, we made a clary's brunch run. so nice and greasy. sits well in your stomach after a long night. it's almost become a tradition. after breakfast, jes, anna and adam had to run. ashlyn and i caught we are marshall, and the boys x-boxed. i don't miss that damn x-box.
stan, jacob and ashlyn left on tuesday and we got kind of back to normal.
scad had winter orientation on that next saturday (yay overtime!) and last sunday we just farted around and had a puppy playdate with two of my students and their puppy, marley. koho liked the park, but not so much all the other dogs. she's such a diva. plus, she's old and doesn't understand why little excitable puppies want to hump her. it was pretty amusing, though.
the rest of the week has been a blur of students coming in, rearranging my schedule and organizing the club fair. this is another three-day weekend, and we're taking advantage of it.
yesterday i drove to sc to give koho back to mom. we met in this little sketch town off i-95 and ate at a bojangles drive-through. but we found gas for $2.03. sweet! i atteneded jay's basketball game yesterday afternoon and then we went to michael's for supplies and loco's for food. came home and started kicking butt on laundry. we have to clean this weekend. no joke. we've got a huge to-do list that i would love to see pared down.
