Had a weird dream last night that I was producing Kelly Clarkson. I was helping her rerecord her "My December" album. I was in the process of getting her to redo he vocals for the "Never Again" single. I told her that we're going to amp up the guitar crunch, so the best effect would be for her to sing the way she normal does, without any grit in her voice in order to make a nice contrast with the backing tracks. As we were recording, a very disgruntled Clive Davis walked in an asked me what the hell I was doing. I told him that I was trying to make Kelly's album more commercial without compromising her artist integrity. His ears perked up at the mention of "more commerical". He asked who I was and I told him that I was just a producer, but that I had some of my own songs on the side. I was talking really fast, because I was worried that he would kick me out of the studio at any second. However, he asked me to play him one of my songs. My dad was there for some reason, and I consulted with him as to which song I should play for Clive Davis, and we quickly agreed on "Cigarettes". Definitely not the most commercial sounding song I could have picked, but he seemed to really dig it, and he told me that he wanted to hold a meeting about giving me a contract. I woke up shortly after this. Weird. I must make it my life goal to one day produce Kelly Clarkson though.
There's a new song up on my
myspace. It's brand new and it's called "Deserve You". I think it'll make a good connecting song for the album. It's the first song recorded with my new microphone. Lemme know what you think!
Check please,
