Today, the military officially ended its 17-year-old Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, allowing soldiers to openly serve.

Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m new to the community! I have a few frustrations/questions and I’m desperate for someone to help me figure them out.

( This is a pretty lengthy account, but I’ll try to keep it concise for the sake of everyone’s attention span! )

Yet another evil, but (arguably) unintended and often overlooked consequence of marriage inequality and DOMA.

U.S. immigration policy ripping spouses from one another, and making American citizens choose to either live with the person they love, or in their own country.

The "Family" section of yesterday's edition of the Guardian newspaper here in Britain included a very positive story about a gay teenager and her proud and supportive mother. I thought I should share it because it's funny and uplifting.

Good for them.

I know this photography project was posted about when it initially made the news, but it's now hit the mainstream media, and there's a haunting and moving video of the exhibit, along with some context for some of the photos. It's very interesting, and beautiful, display.

This has been going around among my friends on Facebook. I was surprised I hadn't seen it here yet.
