My home-state does more and more to make me sad.

Its a case of: "I gotta solve a problem that was....":

1) ...something that happened to me (the legislator) in the bathroom that I thought was uncomfortable and really should be illegal so as allow me to feel secure from ever being uncomfortable again;
2) ...told to me from a constituent had 1) happen to them and then pleaded a strong case for the bill in a e-mail/phone call/letter to me and I really felt for them and consider it my duty to represent their case in the Arizona Legislature.
3) ...because I (the legislator) was bored and figured this was a random problem that needs to be fixed and decided to treat everybody like children that misbehave and need guidance, because face it, we need more stability and control in our lives thanks to the state.

I dunno which one to pick, but I'm certain all three played into this nonsense at some point. Nobody has any ability to handle things outside of their world view, if they're offended its like its the worst thing that could to them and things like this happen. :-/

Oh it was 4) the Plebeians are governing themselves, we can't have that they might hurt people's feelings with their "radicalism".

And I thought that the New York (where I currently live) Assembly was annoying by meddling in the City of Albany's parking meter affairs. Probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard a state legislature debate in an open session.

Nope, Arizona has to be crazy and take away the dubious honor away from New York. All the sponsors of that bill need to be slapped.
