Law regarding restroom use

Mar 20, 2013 20:56

An article out today states that there is a bill in Arizona to make it illegal to use a restroom or locker-room other than one for the gender you were assigned at birth on your birth certificate.

"Violation of the new law would be considered "disorderly conduct," a class 1 misdemeanor, and be punishable by a $4,000 fine and up to six months in prison."

It is not clear whether they would have to register as a sex offender although some of the remarks from one of sponsors regarding pedophiles (seemed to suggest that it might).

Also of an interest, an article about a Colorado girl banned from using the girl's restroom.
