seferin : Are older or younger immortals more likely to be able to adapt and survive, over time? Does passion wear out enough over time that the ancients survive only via momentum?
Granted this is just my opinion, but I don't think it's really a matter of older or younger. I think it skews older, because the ones who don't find reasons to live... don't. But I think it's personality, not age. It's curiosity and a sense of humor. It's the ability to either adapt to change, or catch your breath and adapt anyway. It's learning from experience and not kicking yourself too hard when you don't recognize the return of the lesson. It's both staying busy and the ability to entertain yourself when things are quiet. And I think, like other things, passions have their rise and fall, their surges and their recharge periods.
I suspect learning how to ride out yourself is the most important skill. ::wry:: And the older ones know that's slightly more important than the weapons work. Only slightly, but still.
If you want to add a topic to the list, it's
over here. I seem to be posting these every few days, sorry, but I am getting to them all.
