Day 3 6/27
I checked out of the hostel & into St Anne's this morning. Uneventful, except for forgetting my groceries in the kitchen. It was easily fixed, though, with a stop on my shopping outing in the afternoon. All is settled now; desk is in order, clothes in the dresser & closet, maps posted on the walls, etc. I have a nice room on the top floor of a cute "dormatory" house with a window facing the rear courtyard. I feel a lot more settled, now that my suitcases are away, and familiar faces can be found. There's a bathroom with a tub, no shower...We had a buffet lunch & served dinner tonight. The introductory meeting was short & most of us went to the pub afterward. I don't think I'll go to that one much; £2.50 for ok beer & it will probably be crowded all summer. Used the phone card when I got back. Mom & Dad weren't home & I talked to Douglas for a few minutes. Not much else going on, but we'll see how these academics shape up.
