Sunny today, but chilly, after a frigid night. Our high today was only 57F. But now the weather begins warming quickly. Hopefully no damage was done to the peaches in Chilton County.
Not a bad day. I had a long and fruitful conversation with my lit agent, and I did another polished on that damn intro to Bright Dead Star. It has given me far, far more trouble than it is worth. It might be done now, and tomorrow I attend to the pink sticky notes and add in the Nan Goldin piece as an afterword, and it will be pretty much ready to go away to SubPress. By the way, someone asked, the Nan Goldin exhibition the text was written for was This will not end well, at
the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. The prose was used both as an accompanient to the displayed photos and printed in a book that accompanied the show. It is something I am very proud to have been a part of.
The afternoon's film was a guilty pleasure, Chad Stahelski's John Wick: 3 - Parabellum (2019). It is just such a marvelous blend of beauty and violence. Spooky complains about my "man films." The eyeball wants what the eyeball wants.
Here's
the link to the GoFundMe to deal with the rent in April, May, and June, while I get back on my feet and caught up. Again, my thansk to everyone who's helped out so far. And honestly, no donation is too small.
I leave you with this photo of Selwyn atop the stockpile of
