"He should be so lucky."

The cold weather is back, briefly, so screw you, Jet Stream. We'll be warm again by week's end, but for now we have a freeze warning. Tonight low will be 29F. Today high was only 57F.

I kinda hate this part of spring.

I actually managed to quite a lot today. I finished editing the introduction for Bright Dead Star, unless Kathryn finds more errors, and I decided to add an afterward (I'd been dithering), a piece of prose I wrote in 2022 at the request of photographer Nan Goldin for a book accompanying one of her European exibitions. I'm talking with my lit agent tomorrow, and before that I pulled together some things I want her to take to foreign markets, which are becoming harder and harder sells. I read back over what I have written so far on "A Nameless Person of Mysterious Origin," which has been languishing since the start of February and which I need to get written for the next Sirenia Digest. Once Bright Dead Star is out of here, in the next day or two, I mean to focus almost exclusively on the digest until I am caught up. Which likely means mid April. Oh, and I got a wonderful package from Richard Kirk! It's a print (below) of the cover art he did for the PS Publishing/Dimestore Indian trade paperback (coming soon) of The Dinosaur Tourist, featuring a mosasaur skull.

The afternoon's film was Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Oh, if only we could get back to 2012.

The first twenty-four hours or so of the GoFundMe are heartening, and my thanks to everyone who has been generous enough to donate so far. Thank you.

Later Tater Beans,
Aunt Beast
