"And you, you are not me. The lengths that I will go to, the distance in your eyes..."

A little warmer today, and it's overcast. We have days of clouds and rain ahead of us. Currently, it's 41˚F in Providence, but the windchill is 32˚F. In Birmingham, it's 63˚F, with a forecast high of 76˚F.

My thanks to David Kirkpatrick (again) for sending me copies of "A new hypothesis of dinosaur relationships and early dinosaur evolution" and "Dividing the dinosaurs," both from Nature (March 23, 2017, Vol. 543). This is a very important paper, offering a new model of dinosaur systematics that may come to replace the old Ornithischia + Saurischia classification with a new pairing, a new clade Ornithoscelida (Theropoda + Ornithischia) and a redefined Saurischia (Sauropodomorpha and Herrerasauridae). It is a very big deal, indeed.

The reading and signing at Pandemonium Books in Cambridge went well last night, and so ends the nano-"tour." I read the first section of Agents of Dreamland, most of the second section, and then all of the fourth section. And then I read the beginning of "Interstate Love Song" from the ARC of Dear Sweet Filthy World. My thanks to everyone who turned out, and my thanks to the staff of Pandemonium. After the reading, I signed a lot of stock, so there's now a great selection of my books there, autographed, if you want to swing by and get something. You should. The turnout last night could have been better, but I think it was hurt by there having been the very well-attended Porter Square signing on Monday, only a mile or so away.

Now it is time for me to throw more energy into promoting Dear Sweet Filthy World, and if you have not yet ordered a copy, I hope that you will do so.

During the reading, I found a fairly awful error on page 47 of Agents of Dreamland. A sentence reads, "It was the property of one of his four great grandfathers before him, and he's carried it since the day she died." I have not yet checked to see what the sentence should read, but obviously not that. Near as I can tell, part of a sentence, or maybe an entire line, was somehow omitted. I'll post a correction here in another entry.

We got home about 10:30 p.m., I think. It was after 11 p.m. before we had dinner. I was exhausted and was asleep before 1 a.m. There's still a lot of snow in Boston, and it was not a joyful thing to see.

Compassion, Peace, and Resistance,
Aunt Beast
