The American news has been very preoccupied with China of late, which is by no means surprising. In general the coverage is somewhat negative (sometimes more than somewhat; the silly tainted-products war between the US and China being a prime example), which is also unsurprising, and I take things with a grain of salt ( Read more... )

I've arrived safely in Kathmandu. It's busy and chaotic and unlike any city I've ever visited. For one thing, it's much lower. Coming in over the mountains was amazing, though.
