End of the year summary

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Hmm...started and quit a job in one day, lived with Derek the whole year (granted that started 2 weeks before the end of 2006 but whatever), got waaaay into debt but have a plan to get out, moved into Derek's mom's house, got a cat, won a dream wedding!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't think I made any for this year, but the only one I really have for 2008 is to get out of debt and start saving for a house.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my cousin Kari and Derek's cousin Kathleen, and my sister-in-law's sister gave birth on New Year's Day 2007!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, an uncle and a cousin. Although I wasn't overly close with either of them.

5. What countries did you visit?
None

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Money, free time to spend with Derek and my friends

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
March 3: winning the $35K wedding

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Staying employed at a job that I hated for a while but then realized how awesome the pay can be.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Getting into debt. :(

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
A lot of colds, but other than that, nah.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hmmmmmmmm..........I didn't buy much, but I'd say parts of the centerpieces for the wedding and also our invitations. They're kick-ass.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Derek for putting up with me for another year, Ray for making Sarah sooo happy!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
the government in general

14. Where did most of your money go?
Our shitty apartment, Derek's car

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Sarah and Ray getting engaged, winning the $35K wedding

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Oh geez, I don't know. I didn't listen to much new music this year.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? about the same
ii. thinner or fatter? I gained but then I lost, so I'll say the same
iii. richer or poorer? poorer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Save money, visited STL

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
spent money on junk

20. How will you be spending did you spend Christmas?
We first exchanged gifts at home, then went to Aunt Jean and Uncle Jack's house for dinner and more gifts, then Derek and I went to Hollywood Blvd. and saw Sweeney Todd.

21. Where will you be spending New Years Eve?
I worked until 7, then we went to Claim Jumper with Sarah and Ray, then watched TV with Nancy and Jim until midnight.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
over and over again ;)

23. How many one-night stands?
None, thanks.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Grey's Anatomy.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nah

26. What was the best book you read?
I didn't read many, unfortunately.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I rediscovered my love for early 90's grunge rock.

28. What did you want and get?
a deep tissue massage certificate, pint glasses, a cat

29. What did you want and NOT get?
money, a savings account, fantastic credit.....

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Pirates 3, Sweeney Todd

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 26 and Derek and I spent the evening having dinner at Giordano's and then we went to Dave & Buster's.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
winning the lotto

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
comfort is key!

34. What kept you sane?
Derek most days ;)

Mmm...Johnny Depp

the ongoing war in Iraq

my family

Things aren't always going to go your way, but you'll make it if you persist.
