I got an assignment last week, and I've been avioding it, because I don't know how to deal with it.
Assignment: call different housing developments to find information.
Problem: I did call last week - places that answered were typically not willing to give info to a competitor (as I defined my mission on the phone)
So I asked the individual who gave me the assignment how I should handle the calls. His suggestion: Pretend you're shopping for a relative.
I have a real problem with this. I only have 1 grandparent left. I don't like lying. And without a professional way of doing this, I don't want to.
Do I need to talk to my supervisor about how to handle this?
