Kazuya lazily blinked his eyes, as he woke up from a slight slumber. He felt warm, rough hands soothing the skin at his back, a finger following the line of his nape to his shoulder, before it traced down his side to his lower back. The hand settled there and just seconds later, soft lips pressed gentle kisses to his spine.
Smiling, Kazuya remained lying, didn’t move and let Jin keep on paying all his attention to Kazuya’s body.
Jin shifted closer and placed his hand over Kazuya’s bare hip, right over the sheet that slid a little lower now and revealed more skin. The afternoon sun flooded the room with light and Kazuya closed his eyes again, as Jin’s lips dwelled on Kazuya’s nape.
“This is what I’ve missed most”, Kazuya commented in a husky voice.
Jin’s lips formed into a smile against Kazuya’s skin. “Seriously. You shouldn’t say this, after we spent…” He raised his look to the alarm clock. “…almost two hours having sex.”
Kazuya’s head shot up and he stared at the clock, too. “It’s been this long?”
Jin rolled to his back and stretched. “Well, additionally to the thirty minutes you spent napping.”
Kazuya turned to him. “I had a long trip from Sapporo.”
Jin shifted to his side, so he could face Kazuya. “Everyone still thinks you’re there?”
Kazuya nodded. “I am officially in Sapporo until tomorrow morning.” He reached out his hand and brushed a stray strand of hair from Jin’s face. “It’s late already. Don’t you have to pick up Natsuki?”
Jin slightly shook his head. “You’re actually lucky. She’s with my parents until tomorrow morning.”
“I had hoped to see her, too”, Kazuya murmured.
“Too risky”, Jin commented.
Kazuya lowered his look and drew back his hand, placing it under his cheek. “Can I stay until morning?”
Jin watched Kazuya’s face, the way the warm sunlight and shadows drew the lines. “I couldn’t send you away.”
Closing his eyes, Kazuya shifted closer. “It's pretty lonely in Osaka", he murmured and rested his forehead against Jin's shoulder. "We never lived together and yet, coming home to an empty flat feels just strange."
Jin shifted and pulled Kazuya into his arms."I'd rather have you back here at the hotel, too. You could move in with Natsuki and me."
Kazuya smiled slightly. "Does she miss me?"
Nodding, Jin ran his hand through Kazuya's hair. "I changed our telephone number. No one but those people really important have it. I'll give it to you later, so you can call her sometimes."
Nodding, Kazuya closed his eyes again. “I’d like that.”
“It’ll be just until you move in with us”, Jin murmured.
Kazuya’s eyes flew open and he gave Jin an unbelieving stare. “What?”
“You just said you’d like to live with us, didn’t you?” Jin’s voice was all calm.
“Of course, but…”
Jin silenced Kazuya by putting a finger over his lips. “If you want to be with us and I want you back by my side, too, then, we should be together. Don’t you think so?”
Kazuya stared at him for a moment. After all, it was him who had asked for a lie - and now, Jin was giving it to him. He nodded slowly and Jin kissed his forehead, pulled him closer.
They both winced, as Jin's mobile suddenly started ringing. Kazuya watched him, as Jin turned and picked it up from the night stand. Jin stared at the display for a moment, glancing at Kazuya then.
"It's him", Kazuya realised quietly and tensed.
Jin nodded. "Stay quiet", he just said, before he pressed a button to answer the call. "Yes?"
"Akanishi", Kensaku greeted him. "I just wanted to check on you."
"Check on me?" Jin slowly sank into his pillow again and reached out his free hand to put it back over Kazuya's hip.
"Just hearing what you're up to lately", Kensaku said. "I heard Kazuya's in Sapporo."
Jin watched Kazuya, his concerned eyes looking back at Jin. "Yeah, he is. For a conference."
"You're quite well informed."
"I'm just keeping an eye on him."
Kensaku made a humming sound. "I was just a little worried that he would get weak and probably make a stop in Tokyo on his way back."
Jin's heartbeat raced up and he swallowed thickly before he managed a laugh. "He's still mad at me. He doesn't even call for business matters."
"I should make him", Kensaku answered. "After all, if you don't have contact, it's less fun."
Jin closed his eyes and felt Kazuya's hand run over his chest to his neck. "It's not really fun this way, either."
"Well, for me, it is." Kensaku chuckled. "I made sure and called the hotel in Sapporo, Akanishi."
Over, Jin thought. Just like all the lies before, it didn't last for long. "You did?"
"I would have liked to talk to him, too, but he's still in a meeting. I'd rather not disturb."
Jin opened his eyes and stared at Kazuya who gave him a small smile. "Leave him alone, Iio. I am your target."
"You both are", Kensaku just said bitterly. "Whatever. I'll probably spend some days in Osaka next week."
"Just..."
"Call him, Akanishi." Kensaku kept silent for a moment. "Call him tomorrow for business or whatever. I just don't want you to forget about him."
"I couldn't", Jin murmured and for the first time, he felt satisfaction; it was as if they were paying Kensaku back, even though he didn't know. "I couldn't ever forget him."
Kazuya shifted closer and his look revealed Jin that he thought the same. They were sneaking around behind Kensaku's back - and he didn't realise it.
The connection was cut and Jin put the mobile phone aside. "What did you do?"
Kazuya grinned a little. "I made sure no one would find out that I am not in Sapporo anymore."
Jin slightly shook his head. "I thought he had caught us already."
"I'm not so stupid." Kazuya sat up and brushed back his hair. "I was desperate to see you, but I didn't do anything stupid."
Jin lay on his back and looked up at Kazuya. They both knew that wasn't true, because the desire alone to see Jin, to be with him, had been stupid enough. Being together like this now, was anything but clever.
Even so, none of them said a word. They were both not ready to admit it.
"What are we going to do now?" Kazuya looked to the window, his voice was quiet.
Jin rolled over and put a hand to Kazuya's thigh, slid it over his skin to his hip. "We'll spend the rest of the day in bed."
Kazuya smiled slightly.
It wasn't a solution - not the answer he had asked for.
Still, it was what he had wanted to hear.
It was already dark outside, when Kazuya left the hotel. Days had gotten shorter again, autumn had started a while ago, colouring the trees and the sky in golden, brownish shades.
Kazuya adjusted the jacket of his suit, as he walked down the street. He threw a look back and noticed that no one was around.
His mobile made a beeping sound and he checked the message; smiled as he read the few short words Jin had found for him. He hurried to the train station and got into the train that had just come in and sat down. Closing his eyes, Kazuya sighed slightly and relaxed his posture. He only opened them again, when he had to get off.
Upstairs, dazzling, bright and colourful lights greeted him. Masses of people made their way through the narrow streets and Kazuya disappeared into one of the backstreets, escaping them.
A small sign above the door read Suicide Note in red lights, flickering every now and then. Kazuya paid and got downstairs into the narrow, shady, dark room.
Loud music played and it wasn't particularly crowded. He saw Jin at the bar, a brunette girl with curls leaned in to him, nipping from a Martini. Kazuya smirked, before he got to the dance floor, crossed it and leaned against the wall behind one of the huge speakers, hidden in the shadows of the room.
On the dance floor, he spotted a couple that was dancing pretty close. They exchanged looks from time to time and Kazuya could almost see the tension between them.
He jumped a little, when a hand gripped his waist and pulled him against a body. Soft lips found the skin of his neck, placed gentle kisses there.
"Did she ask for your number?"
Jin grinned against Kazuya's jaw and stretched out his arm for Kazuya to see. On his left hand were digits written in blue ink.
"Seriously", Kazuya murmured, acting upset.
"I told her I might call her up for a threesome with my hot boyfriend", Jin murmured into Kazuya's ear. "She looked a little shocked."
Kazuya chuckled. "I'm not in for threesomes."
"It's not like I would want to share you, anyway." Jin started to move to the rhythm of the music playing - a slow r'n'b piece. Kazuya joined in and turned, put his arms around Jin's neck.
"Three weeks is way too long a time", he murmured and nipped Jin's lips. "I missed you."
Jin returned the kiss and put his hands to Kazuya's hips, brought them a little closer. "Lately, it's seems to be a lot easier for you to say those things."
"Stop talking", Kazuya just answered and pulled Jin into another kiss, rolling his hips. "Keep dancing."
Jin smirked and returned the kiss. They sank into it, shutting out everything besides them. Jin pushed Kazuya against the back of the speaker and kept moving against him in slow, rolling moves. Kazuya moaned into their kiss, tilted his head back, as Jin's lips slid down his jaw and neck. It felt like the beats of the song were just in rhythm with Jin's hips, sending vibes of pleasure and shivers through Kazuya's body.
Jin's hand reached up and he loosened Kazuya's tie, opened the first two buttons of his shirt, while his other hand held Kazuya in position.
"Jin", Kazuya mumbled, one hand buried in dark brunette strands. "There's a hotel near by... Let's..."
"Not tonight, pretty", Jin just answered and silenced Kazuya with another kiss. "Besides, it's just getting good, isn't it?" He smirked, as his hand slid down, between Kazuya's thighs.
Kazuya's eyes darkened, but he didn't break the eye contact, as Jin just kept moving against him, with him. Kazuya kept staring back, even when suddenly, everything around him turned - as long as Jin was there right in front of him, close, his heart beating strong and fast against Kazuya's.
Jin knew he had taken it too far, when he noticed the change in Kazuya's expression. He knew that expression, knew that hazy look from half-lidded eyes, the slightly opened lips, blushed cheeks. He couldn't turn back any more or slow it down. Kazuya's hips moved boldly against his and Jin felt his erection beneath the fabric of the trousers.
It didn't take much longer before Kazuya came. His moans were muffled against Jin's neck and drowned out by the loud music. Jin pressed him against the speaker, the beats throbbing through their bodies, as Kazuya calmed down from his climax. His fingers were curled into Jin's simple black shirt, as he tried to catch his breath.
Jin had wound an arm around Kazuya's neck, had pulled him in, while the other was between them, not visible for anyone where exactly it touched Kazuya.
"You just made me have sex in public, after I declined a threesome", Kazuya commented. "I can't believe it."
"That was barely a hand job." Jin smiled, but used an offended tone. "And hey! How could I know some dancing would turn you on like that?"
With a sigh, Kazuya shrugged slightly. "Three weeks is a long time", he repeated.
Nodding, Jin pulled back a bit, caught Kazuya's lips in another kiss. "Too long", he agreed. "That's why we should find a bed soon."
Kazuya smirked and ran a finger down Jin's abdomen. "Hm", he murmured. "I need to change clothes."
"Oh no", Jin said and winked. "You just need to get out of them."
"I'm fine with that." Kazuya pushed Jin gently away. "Let's go to a hotel."
Jin shook his head. "We'll go to your flat tonight."
Kazuya blinked his eyes. "But what if anyone..."
"It's okay", Jin said and took Kazuya's hand, as he moved towards the door. "We don't need to hide anymore. I'll take you back to Tokyo tomorrow morning."
"What?"
"I told you I'd arrange everything." Jin opened the door and took a deep breath, as they were outside. "Everything is set for you to come back to our Tokyo branch."
Kazuya punched Jin's shoulder and gave him an angry look. "Could you for once not make decisions on your own and talk to me first?"
Jin rubbed his arm and frowned. "We talked about you coming back to Tokyo."
"But you could have told me a bit earlier when I would have to leave here." Kazuya shrugged. "It's so sudden. I have things to finish off here, before I can leave."
"What kind of things?" Jin gave him a curious look, a suspicious one.
Kazuya rolled his eyes. "Work, Jin. You might have forgotten it, but you sent me here for work."
"I haven't forgotten", Jin answered and threw an arm around Kazuya's shoulders, as they walked down the street. "It's just a lucky coincidence that I can practically take you back tomorrow. We actually just need you start working again next week. But, you probably get that I want you home as soon as possible."
"Jin..." Kazuya glanced at him, bit his lip. Of course, he understood that Jin didn't want to spend any more time separated - Kazuya felt the same. "Walking like this in public, coming back to Tokyo, moving in with you. Do you really think..."
Jin shook his head and silenced Kazuya with a single look. "Don't tell me you don't want this anymore?"
"That's not it. I asked for it", Kazuya murmured. After all, he had been the one who had started it, who had wanted Jin to ignore all risks. But sneaking around secretly, meeting up in shady bars and second-class hotels, had been different from openly living together.
Kazuya had wanted to ignore all of it and pretend that things were alright - but in the end, what he just couldn't ignore were his concerns.
"What about Natsuki?"
They slowly walked down the street, Jin's arm still loosely around Kazuya's shoulders; as if they had been walking like this ever since.
"What about her", Jin asked.
"Will she be safe, if we're really doing this?"
Jin nodded. "I'm obviously not the only one protecting her."
Kazuya couldn't argue that and he didn't want to. Jin took quite some risks for him and he was aware of it. So he just raised his hand and laced his fingers with Jin's on his shoulder.
"The last train departs in five minutes", Kazuya said. "We should hurry up a bit."
Jin nodded and they didn't talk anymore, until they sat next to each other on the train. In silence, they both looked out the window, into the darkness of the underground, their faces reflecting in the glass.
As they reached Kazuya's flat later on, Kazuya turned to Jin in front of the door and leaned against it.
"This reminds me of a time, when I wouldn't let you into my flat that easily."
"You forgot about the telling argument for you to give in", Jin reminded him and smirked.
"Hm?" Kazuya tilted his head. "What was it again?"
Jin just shook his head and leaned in to catch Kazuya's lips and kiss him. It was a passionate, strong kiss that delivered heat and desire.
"Ah, I remember", Kazuya mumbled against Jin's lips. "That's what it was."
Jin drew back and smiled slightly. "So, you remember what you have to do now?"
Kazuya nodded and turned to unlock the door. He threw a look back at Jin over his shoulder.
"Come in, Jin."
Kazuya stared at the warm lights that shone through the windows of Jin's house, as they arrived late the next night.
They had gotten up very early in the morning and Kazuya had packed his most important things, had prepared Vanilla's travel cage, before they had left the flat. The sun had not risen even and when they had arrived at the hotel, Jin had been too grumpy and moody for any decent conversion, so they had had a full breakfast first. After that, it had taken until noon to settle everything for Kazuya and for him to bid his farewell to everyone.
Jin had booked a flight for them, but instead of going home, they had gone to the hotel first. Jin hadn't been there for several days and thus, loads of work awaited him.
Kazuya had helped out, but now, as they finally came home, he felt tired and a little sad, because he knew Natsuki wouldn't be up anymore to greet them.
Jin opened the door and Kazuya followed him. They were barely inside, when Eri, Natsuki's nanny, came into the hallway and greeted Jin home.
"Natsuki is already asleep", she said and eyed Kazuya curiously, as she collected her books from the kitchen. "I picked her up from Reila's birthday party at six and she was pretty tired."
Jin nodded and put his keys to the table. "Thanks, Eri-chan."
"No problem", she said and bowed to them. "Good night."
Jin saw her out and as he came back to the kitchen, Kazuya sat on one of the chairs and his head put to the table.
"She wonders why exactly you bring home another man", Kazuya commented and watched Jin, as he went to the fridge.
Jin shrugged. "She'll wonder even more when she'll realise that you move in here."
"She'll get that we're actually a couple."
Nodding, Jin turned to Kazuya.
"It'll be such a disappointment to her", Kazuya said and closed his eyes. "She has a crush on you."
"She babysits my daughter, Kazuya. Eri is like... seventeen?"
"Eighteen", Kazuya corrected. "She finishes school this year."
"I won't even ask why you know such things." Jin went over and sat down across from Kazuya. "Don't fall asleep here."
Kazuya yawned. "It's been a short night and a long day."
"You can sleep in tomorrow morning." Jin ran a hand through Kazuya's hair. "I took the day off. Let's go for a drive with Natsuki."
Kazuya opened his eyes and moved his head to look at Jin. "She'll love it."
"She'll freak out to see you here in the morning."
Grinning, Kazuya rose. "I'll probably just really marry her one day."
Jin raised a brow. "Seriously..." He clicked his tongue. "She'll lose her admiration for you in a few years. And then, when she's old enough to actually understand what's going on, she won't want to marry a guy who slept with her father."
Kazuya laughed and went ahead to leave the kitchen. "You make this sound really bizarre and ugly."
"I'm just realistic", Jin said, as he followed.
They stopped in front of Natsuki's door and Kazuya pressed down the handle to peek inside. She lay curled up beneath the thick blanket and was sound asleep. Kazuya exchanged a look with Jin, before he closed the door again and they went to Jin's bedroom.
When they had both changed and lay next to each other, Jin nuzzled close.
"You know", he murmured. "She won't want to marry you anymore, but she'll always love you the way she does now."
Kazuya didn't say anything, just smiled slightly.
"After all, she offered you to be family - and that's what you'll be to her."
They both fell silent after that and it didn't take long for any of them to fall asleep. As Jin blinked his eyes open again, the sound of rain tapping against the window was what he heard first.
Kazuya lay next to him; close. His face was nuzzled to Jin's neck, his hand secure over Jin's chest. He was sound asleep and a look at the alarm clock told Jin that they had slept for more than eight hours.
Jin pressed his lips to Kazuya's forehead and whispered his name.
"Time to get up, pretty", he murmured.
Kazuya made a protesting noise and nuzzled closer. "It's raining."
Smiling, Jin ran his fingers through Kazuya's hair. "Hm."
"Rainy mornings are meant to be spent in bed."
"Kazuya..." Jin fell silent, when he felt Kazuya's fingers slide from his chest to his tummy. He drew circles over Jin's flesh and pressed a soft kiss to Jin's shoulder.
"You're a sneaky brat, aren't you?"
Kazuya chuckled and flashed a grin at Jin. "If I'd start anything now, Natsuki will barge in any second. I am sure about it."
Jin groaned silently. "Not ever again, please."
Kazuya rested his hand just centimetres over the waistline of Jin's shorts. "It's a pity."
"We could lock ourselves in the bathroom", Jin suggested. "And I'll show you the possibilities my shower holds."
Kazuya laughed slightly. "Is that an offer?"
Jin rolled over and straddled Kazuya, attacked his neck with eager, hungry lips. "Not an offer", he mumbled. "An alternative to having morning sex in the bed and getting caught."
Kazuya hummed as he arched to Jin. "Sounds like I don't have much of choice."
"Not the slightest", Jin agreed and pulled Kazuya up and into the bathroom. He locked the door behind them and looped a finger under the waistline of Kazuya's shorts, pulled them down with one move.
As Kazuya chuckled and pressed Jin's back to the tiles, Jin thought that there was no sound perfect like that; no sound that made his heart flatter, skip a beat and set off a string of feelings that were all positive.
Kazuya turned on the shower and yelped, as the cold sprawl met his back. Jin pulled him in and robbed him a kiss, made him forget about the cold water, as it heated up on their skin. They both were soaked in an instant and Kazuya smiled gently at Jin, as he pulled back and framed his face.
"It doesn't matter", he said lowly, almost drowned out by the water. "It doesn't matter what happens from now on. If we stay together or if we'd have to part again." He leaned in again and kissed Jin slowly, seductive, sloppy and wet. "Nothing of it matters", Kazuya repeated and ran his hands down Jin's neck and chest, over wet skin. "I'd love you anyway."
Jin stared back at him and let Kazuya go on with his caresses. His hands suddenly seemed to be everywhere; all over Jin's body, reaching every point and Jin lost every coherent thought.
He repeated Kazuya's name, over and over again, like a magic formula and held on to him a s tight as he could.
It didn't matter what would happen - Jin wouldn't ever let go again.
Three days had passed and actually, nothing had happened.
They both had thought they'd get not more than that one perfect day together, before Kensaku would destroy it with all his might.
Instead, they had spent three more days together - acting as if everything was just normal. Neither of them talked about what could happen or what they anticipated directly. At some point, Jin had given Kazuya his parents address. He hadn't said what it was for, but they were both aware that it was meant for Kazuya to get Natsuki to a safe place should anything happen.
What anything was - how it should be defined and what it could trigger - they both didn't talk about it.
Now, Jin sat at home with Natsuki next to him on the couch. She watched TV, her eyes half-lidded and her posture tired. He had picked her up at about five and it was almost eleven now. She didn't have school in the morning, as it was Saturday, but it was still way too late for her to still be up.
She was waiting for Kazuya - and so was Jin.
He had seen Kazuya last at the hotel and even though they had not agreed on when he'd be home, Jin couldn't help but to be worried.
Something might had happened.
A wave of relief washed over him, when he heard the front door open. Natsuki didn't hear it; her eyes were open, but her mind was asleep already.
When Kazuya came into the room, she sat straight and hopped from the couch, approaching him quickly. Kazuya took her into his arms and lifted her up, carrying her back to the couch.
"Kazu-nii, you're late", Natsuki scolded him.
"I'm sorry", he mumbled. "There was quite a bit to do at the hotel."
"I 'm sure some of it could have waited until tomorrow", Jin said and shifted to make space for Kazuya.
"Sure. But now it's done and I can be home at around noon tomorrow." He smiled. "What leaves us half a day together."
Jin smiled and watched Kazuya put Natsuki to his side. She nuzzled close to him and Kazuya kept a hand on her nape. Now that Kazuya was back to the Tokyo branch, it wasn't possible for them to have days off together, as one of them always had to be at the hotel. But somehow, they would be able to arrange it.
Kazuya sighed and loosened his tie. He had taken off his jacket at the front already and opened a few buttons of his shirt now. "I should have changed first", he murmured, as he rested his head to Jin's shoulder.
Jin adjusted their position and pulled an arm around Kazuya. He noticed Natsuki had already fallen asleep, secure at Kazuya's side.
"We'll go to bed soon", he answered.
"It's been three more days", Kazuya said lowly after a few moments. "Actually, I slowly get afraid", he admitted. "I'm constantly scared something could happen."
Jin kept silent for a moment, before he shook his head. "There's nothing to be afraid of", he said then. "We'll be fine."
Kazuya nodded and closed his eyes, nuzzled closer to Jin.
This was what he had wanted, Jin thought. Being with Kazuya like this - leading a normal relationship, where they would cuddle up on the couch at the end of the day. A relationship that Natsuki accepted as easily as she did, a relationship that made both of them feel complete.
They would always end up at this point again - it didn't matter what would happen.
I'd love you anyway, Jin remembered and watched Kazuya who had fallen asleep, too. His chest rose and fell in steady breaths and Jin brushed a few stray strands from Kazuya's face.
They'd always repeat the same mistakes over and over again for that one simple reason. It was the only truth in between all the lies.
Nothing would be alright and they both knew that they were lying to themselves; both anticipated something to happen every day.
Yet, Jin thought, it was the most wonderful mistake he had ever made - and he would repeat it over and over again.
It was the most wonderful mistake.
And the most beautiful lie he had ever told.
