Internet problems last night; this entry written around 9:30 PM on July 9. It has a question for the lazyweb at the very end, so I wanted to post it in real time.

----

Things accomplished today:

* Stair-step spice rack purchased and spice shelf reorganized.

* Good pool and playground located nearby.

* Had dinner on the table on time and we all ate together.

* Decided to start fresh with income/expense tracking. This saves quite a bit of work putting the last two months' transactions into our current Quicken file. We balanced our "checkbook" before deciding this, so we're fine there. In a manner of speaking.

* Got guest bed and cedar chest delivered. Thanks Dad and Gerald!

* Oil painting uncrated, no damage.

* Decided to lower asking price on Alexandria house. :( Disappointing, but needs to be done. Few other options for getting house sold in the next 3-4 weeks.

* Determined that movers almost certainly "lifted" our cordless drill. Grr. Not on inventory and not worth more than $500, so there's not much we can do but complain (which we will certainly do). Mars an almost perfect, if expensive, move.

* Bought the Half-Blood Prince paperback, so that I don't have to dig in our boxes for a re-read, plus we have a complete set of paperbacks now.

* Had a good conversation with tedow, although I don't know if I can really count that since he called us.

* Unpacked rugs and toiletries.

* Decided what to do about clothes storage.

* Located Angel S4 DVDs (and watched first ep, heh).

Anti-Accomplishments:

* Misread email from my former boss and thought he was calling me; I was supposed to call him. Dammit. Left a message tonight, hope I can make it up.

* Failed to do any other job emails or other work today despite having something of a reprieve from child care. I spent some of my break reading LJ and Nathan Fillion's MySpace. Then, tonight, internet crapped out at 9 PM.

Does anyone know offhand what the catch(es) would be to writing one of the low-APR checks that our credit card company offers to ourselves, and then turning around and paying our bill? We need a reprieve somehow on the APR for a month or so, and that seems to be one way to do it. And they even say, "write a check to yourself." I'd find a zero-interest-rate card, but we don't want to lose the cards that we have balances on.
