I've finally made it to Chiang Mai! In a spurt decision, since I had so much fun on the commuter train, I booked a sleeper train from Ayutthaya up here. It was terrible. They had berths, and new sheets and pillows, and strong air conditioning...but in an enclosed car traveling for 12 hours you really dont want that A/C. I got up about every hour ( Read more... )

End of my second day in Thailand! Intestinal fortitude continues to hold! Taste buds prove too weak --but I continue to try.
