Simple, one would think
This wench just blew my fucking mind.
Especially the part about squid and bioluminescence. Not just how does that particular bacteria do it, but how does the squid know? I mean, I have never seen a squid in a molecular biology class.
So not only do bacteria communicate, but “lower” animals can learn stuff, at least in a practical sense, and at least as a basic level (means to an end).
