No, I haven't found my perfect RPG but over the last few years I have started to realise that I have a set of criteria that I want from an RPG. Some are trivial and some are major. I cant say that the criteria is exactly planned. Its more a result of my previous experiences. Also, the criteria itself doesn't gauge entirely how well I like the RPG ( Read more... )

I finished Thousand Thrones last night. Its the second longest campaign I have run at 34 sessions (effectively 36 given the last session was a triple up). I just realised that I have posted very little about Thousand Thrones here on my LJ. We had the penultimate session of Thousand Thrones last night and out last weeknight session. It was session #32 IIRC. We started on 24 May 2010, which is almost exactly 18 months ago. That means we have only missed aroung 6 fortnightly sessions the whole game. I think that reliability really helped ( Read more... )

So in order to carry more loot, we realised that it was cheaper for the PCs to loose weight than buy new horses. That way the horses can carry more. Also strong but thin servants have an previously unforeseen value.

Ah WFRP, you are so fun.

So my Father in Law turned up last night just as I was describing in detail the PCs tearing their way through a large seeping bruised fleshy sphincter doorway surrounding by wild and unruly bushes.

Oh WFRP, you have such a sense of humour :)

It's seems appropriate that the PCs' final confrontation with the cult of Nurgle should be postponed by GM and player illness.

So today I played WFRP. We faced our first "magical" beast in 4 years of play - a Manticore. After a vicious fight, we slew it.
