You're Beautiful...You're Beautiful...You're Beautiful it's true!
Now for all of you that don't recognize that song...where have you been? James Blunt and his song You're Beautiful was on the top of the charts here in Sweden all summer. And on Wednesday I got to see him in concert in Stockholm!!! It was so fun...once we got there.
I must first tell you the long story of how I finally got to the concert. I was supposed to take the train and meet my friend Gunilla at her station and then together we were going to continue to Stockholm. But of course it just so happened that with all the snow that somehow a train got stuck on the track at the staion between hers and mine. So since I am the last station on the line she was still able to catch the right train while I was waiting with Eva for the train to come (Eva had a conference to go to in Stockholm and we were taking the same train). Then once I knew the train wasn't coming I began frantically calling Gunilla on her mobile to tell her I wasn't going to be able to catch the train. But it just so happens that she left her mobile at home! But no fear...lucky she was with another friend of ours who called me and said that Gunilla would wait for me at Stockholms Östra (the end station in Stockholm) but the part of the call that I didn't hear was where at Stockholms Östra. But none the less Eva was able to drive me to catch the next train and 45min later I was in Stockholm. Then came the task of finding Gunilla...haha...I was a little frantic at this point because I couldn't find her and didn't know how to get to the concert by myself. After 20min I had the ingenious idea to look in the 7/11 and there she was! So then finally we were off. And we headed to where the concert was being held (or so we thought). In the METRO, the free subway newspaper, it said that the concert had changed pavilions from Globens Annexe to Hovet. And so we got there and waited in line and finally got to the gates and they said 'Your at the wrong place...you want to be at The Globen' (because Hovet is right beside the Globen). It turns out that we were in line to see Simple Plan...not James Blunt. Oj oj oj...So then we ran like mad back to the subway and went the one station to the Globen and finally we were in the right place! And miraculously we didn't even miss the opening act and managed to get half decent seats too. This is Gunilla and I in the snowiness waiting in line to get into Hovet.
Once we got inside we searched for seats, got food, t-shirt (me) & program (gunilla) and then watched the opening act. And then finally we saw James Blunt! He was awesome! He was really funny when he was introducing the songs and talking to the crowd.
And when he was like 'Tack tack, tusen tack!' 'Thanks Thanks A Thousand Thanks' Haha...that was the extent of his Swedish and everyone was throughly impressed. I was like...'How come people aren't impressed when I speak Swedish?' Oh well! Anyhoos...the concert was awesome and I got all of my favorite songs on video and everything!
And then when it was time to go home my train was working again...Bonus!
