Really fantastic fic showing a mostly canon compliant 3B from Derek's POV. Loved how the canon events stayed the same, but how different everything look with a few changes to Derek and Stiles' interactions. Really great relationship development and super hot sex!

So I put off reading this fic for awhile, despite the rave reviews, because I knew it was established relationship, and from the summary, I thought that it was a future!fic, both of which I'm not crazy about, because I like to see my boys grow together. But this fic actually takes place when Stiles is 18, and besides that, it really is well-written and truly excellent and I am glad I finally gave in! The story alternates between the hostage situation and flashbacks, which threw me off at first, but once I realized what was happening, I really enjoyed getting to see glimpses of Stiles's life with the pack. I thought all of the relationships that Stiles has were really beautifully written and his characterization in this fic was seriously perfect.

Erica is getting married to a beta from another pack, and when Stiles comes back home from college, Derek thinks he and Erica are in love, and decides to date Stiles to keep him away from Erica and perverse the wedding and alliance. Of course, it's not much of a hardship, considering he has been in love with him for years. Derek in this is perfect and there are some ridiculously hot sexy times! I really love that = Erica and Boyd are with other people. I love them together in fics, but sometimes it's a bit much having everybody in the pack conveniently paired up with another person in the pack. I promise, the angst in this is totally manageable!

So I put off reading this fic for awhile, despite the rave reviews, because I knew it was established relationship, and from the summary, I thought that it was a future!fic, both of which I'm not crazy about, because I like to see my boys grow together. But this fic actually takes place when Stiles is 18, and besides that, it really is well-written and truly excellent and I am glad I finally gave in! The story alternates between the hostage situation and flashbacks, which threw me off at first, but once I realized what was happening, I really enjoyed getting to see glimpses of Stiles's life with the pack. I thought all of the relationships that Stiles has were really beautifully written and his characterization in this fic was seriously perfect.
